Profile: One of the most hard working Greek coaches of his generation, Vassilis Bratsiakos quickly gained recognition as one of the toughest coaches of the country. His big experience in all levels of basketball allow him to step in even in the hardest circumstances and provide immediate results. A true lover of discipline in his teams, Vassilis Bratsiakos is known to be passionate and commit himself in every club that he has worked. Despite his numerous successes over the years, he is always hungry for more. One of the most educated Greek coaches, as he has been a regular member of all the big international clinics that took place in Greece during the last 25 years. Season (2011),Bratsiakos after his successfully ending season with club A.E Exo Panagitsa he took charge of club G.S. Kymis that played in the Greek D division and until 2016 won the championship 4 times with G.S. Kymis. And G.S. Kymis for the season 2016-2017 he will play first time in A1 with Vassilis Bratsiakos as head coach.He owns a basketball academy in Chalkida, Greece – where he comes from – in which 250 kids of all ages are trained under his watchful eyes. The year 2017- 2018 he was appointed to teach in a web-seminar by the Greek Basketball Coaches Association with the theme “Offensive Transition” which was very successful. A huge success was also the second seminar in which he was appointed by Greek Basketball Coaches Association in Agrinio city, with the theme “Spacing – Close out footwork”. In December 2019 Vassilis Bratsiakos was appointed as Al Sadd’s men’s basketball Head Coach. A demanding job in an upcoming basketball league such as Qatar’s (QBF), Vassilis delivered immediately and his team showed remarkable improvement. Al Sadd climbed up from the bottom position of the league as well as appeared in a semifinal (Qatar Cup) and a final game (Emir Cup) that season. His team has been improving each year since, reaching two more times the Cups semifinals and the league’s semifinal with the youngest team ever assembled in the history of the league.
